Stay positive and remember that we represent the people's hope for change, PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail told all Pakatan Rakyat members today.
In a statement addressed to the Pakatan "family", she urged all politicians to stop bickering and come together to ponder on the aspirations of Malaysians, who gave the opposition parties up to 52 percent of the popular vote in last year’s 13th general election (GE13).
"The people are hoping for a more positive political situation, one that is more progressive, based on values and intelligence.
"This means the people want to see a more mature political landscape that can fulfil their hopes after five decades of being ruled by the same mob," she said in a short press statement.
Wan Azizah did not mention the issue, although Pakatan has been rocked by turmoil ever since she was named the Selangor menteri besar-in-waiting, to replace two-term incumbent Abdul Khalid Ibrahim (right).
Wan Azizah only referred to "recent political developments" and noted that the sentiment among the Pakatan family is "not too positive".
“Nevertheless, I believe that we all want the best, not only for the people of Selangor but for all Malaysians,” she said.
She ended her four-paragraph statement by urging all Pakatan members to unite and fall in line, so that the best solution could be found for the PKR-led Selangor government and for Malaysia as a whole.
