YOURSAY 'Even the banks in Malaysia do not have that kind of money. Shahnaz, please tell us how much tax your ex-husband pays every year...'

Ex-wife claims Taib's son has RM1bil assets in M'sia

your say, YoursayTehachapi: Sarawak is one of the poorest and most backward states in Malaysia, but it is blessed with bountiful resources. The Penans and other natives are malnourished and suffering various diseases.

They continue to suffer from poor accessibility to education, healthcare and the Internet. The political leaders meanwhile keep demanding more and more money in the name of helping the poor, but they all end up one way or another in the pockets of their family and children for the purpose of having a luxurious life.

This corrupt practice is rapidly eroding public trust and breeding social tension. Former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad said recently that the bumiputera empowerment plan was meant to spread the country's wealth more evenly, which is indeed a noble goal, but the reality is far different.

Unless there is a revival in social responsibility and true compassion in the hearts and minds of these political masters, there is zero likelihood of any reduction in poverty despite repeated bumiputera programmes.

Chial: Where do these people get their money from? Even the banks in Malaysia do not have that kind of money.

Shahnaz A Majid, please tell us how much tax your former husband Mahmud Abu Bekir Abdul Taib pays every year, so that the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) can investigate.

Toonarmy: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is too chicken to do anything. Bekir's papa ordered them to go to hell and they obediently did. Don't forget Bekir's papa also has the PM in his grip as well, especially after GE13.

2zzzxxx: Of course, Bekir has RM1 billion in Bolehland. In fact, this figure is too little. As the son of the King of Sarawak, the richest man on earth, what is RM1 billion?
'Curb on Allah usage makes 1.6mil bumis criminals'

Anonymous #58458950: A lack of interreligious dialogue is the key reason why the Malays are apparently so fearful and threatened by the use of the word 'Allah' by the Christians.

The remedy for ignorance is education and not playing God by banning words. How ridiculous this is, but again Malaysia Boleh, right?

Lamborghini: I salute the Christian leaders for taking a firm stand against religious bigotry, racism and extremism which absolutely has no place in our multicultural, multiracial and multireligious country.

Malaysia must be the only country in the whole world where one major religion is insisting it has the sole right to use 'Allah' for God. Even the other Islamic nations don't have this problem. Why is Malaysia different?

Let's call a spade a spade. It is not really about religion. It is about political opportunism by a group of extremists using religion to gain political mileage. God must be weeping and the rest of the world is laughing at the absurdity of the demand that only Muslims can use 'Allah' for their God.

And where is the promise to the East Malaysians before they formed Malaysia that there will be total freedom of religion? Are the extremists saying that in the name of Allah, even promises made can just be broken so easily? Is there no honour left? Let us live and let live.

AngryBird: Over the past years, nothing had happened when Christians used the word 'Allah'. Why is it a problem only now? Were the Muslims in slumberland then?

Black Mamba: If they ban the word 'Allah' from being used by Christians in Sarawak and Sabah then the majority of the bumiputera population there has every right to revisit and invoke the 20-point and 18-point agreements respectively made during the formation of Malaysia.

Toonarmy: If this is true, the Umnoputras must be falling over each other to grab the contracts to build jails to house these 1.6 million East Malaysians.

Paul Warren: Since 1962 there has been a major shift in the understanding of Islam by Malays whose sensitivities alone is deemed to be of paramount importance.

Since 1962, with the blessing of the Umno-led government the Malays have been led to believe that Allah is the god that they pray to and that no one else can attribute Allah to their religion.

They were not told that the word Allah itself existed even before Prophet Muhammad and that it was used within the Arabic Christian community as well as the Christian community in Indonesia, Sabah and Sarawak long before Umno came along.

The Malays were lied to, and made to believe that ‘Allah' was to be used only by Muslims and no one else. And many believe that to be the truth.

They have also been brainwashed into believing that they ought to be sensitive about this as well and to respond to that sensitivity. Fortunately there are more enlightened Malays amongst them who know this to be a lie and don't buy into it.

Wak Kanto: Hello, all Sarawak and Sabah Christians - the problem is of your own making because you have voted for Umno-BN all these years. So if you want to protect your fundamental rights, next general election vote them out.

Remember to do it in the next general election and no later than that as things would have gotten from bad to worse.
