Time: 11am - 1pm
Venue: PKR Operation Centre Cabang Julau
PKR Julau today organised a ceramah perdana attended by about 400-500 peoples from all races in Julau. Initially the said ceramah was supposed to be held at the Julau basketball court but permission were not granted by the Secretary of the Maradong District Council, Mr. Adrian ak Luang giving the reason that he was given a directive from the people on top that the opposition party cannot use government facilities such as the basketball court. Andy Wong, the PKR candidate for P209 Julau stated that "The action by the secretary of the Maradong District Council is an outright abuse of power and an undemocratic practice. Even though we do not know who has given such directive, this kind of attitude by Mr. Adrian shows that they are resorting to unfair practices and I do not believe this a free and fair election as claimed by Barisan Nasional."
Among the speaker of the day were Yang Berbahagia Datuk Seri Wan Azizah, YB Ali Biju and Andy Wong Hong Yu.
Datuk Seri Wan Azizah spoke with much enthusiasm that the Pakatan Rakyat government will ensure that no citizen of Malaysia will be treated unfairly and that Sabah and Sarawak will be given the much needed development through the increase of the oil royalty.
YB Ali Biju spoke on the fate of the Iban people whose lands have been robbed from under their feet. The Pakatan Rakyat government will ensure that all NCR land is given back to the rightful landowners.
